"Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has a purpose."
(Elisabeth Kubler-Ross)
...After removing all clutter inside your mind, Follow your mind's thoughts. Disregard negative thought activity and pay close attention to the different words, images, and landscapes of creativity that pop into your mind. Afterwards, follow the yellow brick road to your next song or poem...:)
"Truly, it is in the darkness that one finds the light, so when we are in sorrow, then this light is nearest of all to us." (Meister Eckhart)
...Being creative, writing, performing, and doing what we love seem to be the 1st things we give up in times of trouble. It can take forever to accomplish dreams & goals when we continually lose sight & balance.
As creative artists, we must remember to keep functioning as if the 'light' has never stopped shining. The goal is to not pretend the 'darkness' does not exist, but to boldly walk through the 'darkness' with a torch that shines the vision of our dreams and goals and blinds us from the sorrows of procrastination that lurk in the shadows...

"A
mind too active is no mind at all." (Theodore
Roethke)
...Being constantly on the go, doing 'stuff', or
leaving no room for playtime & the self makes
Johnny a dull boy...and it also makes no time for
writing...
A mind needs time to absorb everything that it experiences
in order to keep growing and in order to keep growing
in songwriting...

"Living
is a form of not being sure, not knowing what's next
or how. The moment you know how, you begin to die
a little. The artist never entirely knows. We guess.
We may be wrong, but we take leap after leap in the
dark." (Agnes De Mile)
...Mankind's human mind just loves
to categorize, stereotype, and label everything it
understands and everything it doesn't understand.
As writers, as soon as words hit paper, our thoughts
tend to wander to what our words mean and how they
will be interpreted before we even complete thought
or writings. This week when writing, stay focused
and catch your mind in the act of distraction. Instead
of thinking of words and what they mean, visualize
your feelings and feel your words. Leap off the cliff
of emotions and let inspiration's creativity catch
your fall into your next song...
